A personal, ongoing global project that addresses the immediate and lingering impact of war on women in
their particular society, country or culture. The goal of the project is to show women, not as victims, but as
survivors. Most recent additions include women from Northern Ireland who survived decades of sectarian violence, and American mothers and wives of servicemen killed in the the war in Iraq. Subjects to date also include Afghan refugee women; Kosovar Albanian refugee women; Japanese women who survived the A-Bomb in Hiroshima; Los Angeles gang girls and Eastern European World War II survivors. In addition to the photographic record, Roth is also recording oral histories of various women.
