A photographic essay on Berber women in Morocco who have formed agricultural cooperatives to produce argan oil, in order to provide a livelihood for widowed and divorced local women. The argan tree grows abundantly in southern Morocco and is the source of the fruit that encloses the seed from which argan oil is extracted. This work, photographed in 2002 is currently in production for a book project and traveling exhibition, and is a collaboration between Roth, and the French writer, Victoria Salvy.
